Hello from Perth Australia

Hi all,

didnt know this forum existed until I was put onto it from Martin at MAXX.

I have a 1988 US Spec M3 that is now soley a track car.

Am just doing a 2.5 refresh, did a rebuild last year and had some head gasket issues, so i though i would make some improvements while the engine is apart.

Upgraded cams to 292/284 Schricks
Upgraded conrods
Went to head studs the previous bolts stretched...
Wiseco pistons - the S38 ones not the TMS ones
M5 Inlet valves
Porting of inlet and exhaust
48 TB's
MAXX Alpha-N
Iigo custom chip
and lots more...

Thanks for looking

Vito

Yep. in Western Australia I can drive LHD. It relates to cars that are 15 yo or older.

would be a shame to convert it...

Hi Vito, welcome, mate!

It's been kinda of slow here...

I had seen your car before and was intrigued with your wheel/tyre choice for the track...

What have you got on the shifter? What's your feedback?

Hi Vito and welcome.

Nice car I like the color

If you don't mind me asking which head gasket did you use ? Was it a gr.A gasket or stock 2.5l.

Thomas

Welcome Vman
Nice looking car and sits quite low, do you drive this on the street as well, as in NZ we have a hight restriction for road use?

Not a daily driver. Cops tend to go for the jap stuff and leave small German stuff alone.

Hi, just to give another data point: Ive always used the Gr. A head gasket and the stock head bolts and never had a problem.

MLS gaskets can be more finicky.

Perhaps the reason for leaks is due to something else...

John
