Hi From New Zealand
Hi Guys,
My name is Dave and I live in the South Island New Zealand,
Last January was a good month for me I brought a 1987 Euro spec M3.
My m3 was produced 11-07-1987 and sold new by Asso Motors Hoishima Japan and imported to NZ late 2008.
Last winter I was quite busy restoring and presreving verious parts on my M3 and catching up with o/due maintenance.
Good to have some warmer weather to get the M3 out and enjoy it.
You may have have seen these on S14.net

Welcome to the forum David. Nice to see another NZer aboard.
Does your M3 have a dog leg gear box or the Japanese spec standard "H" pattern?

Nice. The Japanese spec cars have the aux tank as well. I think it was only the US spec that didnt.

Nice Dave ! Enjoyed looking through all the pics of the work done. I just wish I had your skills ( and tools) to pull things apart, clean them and put it all back togeather again !
I noticed you took all the front lights out. Was that to clean them, can you get into the light to clean the glass inside or is is a sealed unit ?

Hi Phill,
Cheers it took quit a while to tidy things up the headlights were quite a project, there were three Bosch headlights and one Hella installed and to install the Hella someone cut part of the headlight holder away.
I found new old slock headlight holders and fog lights on US ebay
The headlights I installed were the same p/n as removed Bosch units P/N 0301302602 & 0301302602.
I brought these through a purchasing agent in Japan and they arranged for them to be sent to New Zealand. I brought three high and three low beam lights and they arrived well packaged in excelent condition, they were alot cheaper to buy from Bosch Japan than NZ.
Power Bulbs UK supplied Osram Night breaker and Silver Star, Since installing them I have only had one opportunity to drive at night and they worked well.
Dave.
